New music this summer!

I can finally start making it official - there will be new original music coming out this summer! My latest album Uphill was engineered and produced by Mark Marshall and will be released in August. The lead single will also be the leadoff track from the record, On My Way (Walking Through New Orleans), and that will be available next month (July). I’ll be releasing the single first to Bandcamp, then to the streaming services ahead of the full album. We’ll be celebrating the new album with a record release show on August 21 in Brooklyn - location TBD, being put on by the wonderful folks at Operation: Gig (operationgig.org).

It’s an exciting and scary thing putting out new music, and that is especially the case with these 7 songs, which are among the most personal I have ever written and recorded. This is a record about loss, grief, anxiety, doubt, and ultimately finding joy and love (which co-exist with all the other stuff). Simply put, it’s the only record I could have made.

Sonically, this is unlike anything I’ve ever done. I am grateful to producer, guitarist, composer and all-around wizard Mark Marshall for helping me navigate and bring out the sounds in my head. I also had an extraordinary rhythm section in Sean Dixon (drums) and Seth Ondracek (bass), whom you’ll get to hear on August 21.
